The results won’t have a chance

When we've tried to achieve a goal so many times in the past and it didn't work, it's almost instinctive to wonder if it's worth it, or if it's actually going to work this time. And that makes sense because the thought of not having results again is stressful.

You've tried all the fad diets. You lost 10 pounds, only to regain it a couple of months later. You cut carbs completely out of your life, lost the weight, only to feel low on energy and regain it all (again) when you went back to eating the foods you enjoy.

You blamed the sugar in fruit. You blamed carbs. You blamed eating after 6 pm. You blamed your busy schedule. Motherhood. A program. And somehow, despite finding something or someone to blame, you're still not where you want to be.

I love you, so I say this with so much love: You can't keep blaming someone or something for the results you didn't get because you didn't do the work.

I know it's a lot more comfortable to believe you had no control over the situation. To believe it was someone else's fault. But as hard as it may be to hear, you are in control of your own life.

If you truly want it, you can do it. And don't get me wrong, I know firsthand that it isn't easy. And sometimes (most of the time), it isn't as fast as you wish it was. But if you stop making excuses and start following a system that works for you, you'll get there.

Will it require compromise? Absolutely. You might have to wake up 20 minutes earlier to fit in a 15-minute workout. You might have to order the better option at a restaurant instead of the one that sounds the best. You might have to limit yourself to two drinks and have water the rest of the night.

You don't have to stop living your life. You don't have to stop going out with friends. You don't have to stop eating the foods you love. But you do have to make choices that align with the goals you say you want.

You got to this point in life because of your choices. If you're not happy with your life, your body, your health, or your habits, you can change them. But you're not going to have a different outcome by continuing to do the same things.

When you do what has to be done. When you make the decision to change and stick with it. And when your systems are working with your life instead of against it, you will achieve your goals. Because when you show up every single day, the results have no choice but to follow.
